• Carrying out maintenance and repair work on vehicles/units in accordance to company procedures and programmes to set standard times. • Reacting timeously to breakdowns • Planning and carrying out major overhauls of mechanical units to set standard times • Providing guidance to trainees and apprentices attached to the workshop. • Enforcing and instituting correct workshop safety and housekeeping practices. • Compiling documentation of vehicles/units repaired, generate requisitions and feedback. • Ensuring adherence to SHE, MDW and EMS 14001. • Adhering to workshop SOPs • Providing on the job training to subordinates.
• Planning vehicle servicing and maintenance programmes • Spares stock issuing, replenishment inventory management • Management of fuel stocks • Enforcing SHE, MDW and Technical requirements • Legal compliance on all fleet • Cost management and budgeting. • On the job training of subordinates and apprentices • Carrying out daily, weekly and monthly reports
• Perform major and minor overhaul and repair work to engines, transmission, brake systems, suspension, electrical and hydraulic equipment. • Disassembly, adjustment, repair or replacement of defective parts or components • Use of typical trade tools to diagnose, test, analyze equipment to determine proper functionality. • Perform all facets of preventive maintenance on vehicles. • Analyze fuel usage and vehicle maintenance data and develop vehicle rotation plans to enhance efficient fleet utilization.
