Job Description

As Fitter, you will be responsible for assembling and fitting metal parts to create finished products, using hand tools, welding equipment, and other machinery. This individual will read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to ensure proper fit and alignment of parts. Additionally, this person will use various measuring tools to ensure that finished products meet quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble and fit metal parts to create finished products according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Use hand tools, welding equipment, and other machinery to cut, shape, and join metal parts.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to ensure proper fit and alignment of parts.
  • Use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure that finished products meet quality standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Skill & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a fitter or in a related field.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, welding equipment, and other machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Good mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Good communication skills.
