Fabrication Training – West Coast College | 2011–2013
Completed a three-year Fabrication programme at West Coast College, gaining practical skills in metal fabrication, welding, fitting, engineering drawings, material preparation, and workshop safety.
This training provided the foundation for my career as a qualified Boilermaker, including experience with structural steel, piping, chutes, equipment repairs, and heavy-industry fabrication.
Boilermaker Apprenticeship | West Coast College | 2015–2018
Completed a full Boilermaker apprenticeship at West Coast College, including Phase 1–4 theoretical training and practical workplace experience at ArcelorMittal and Transnet Rail & Port. Developed hands-on skills in fabrication, welding, fitting, maintenance, engineering drawings, and heavy-industry repairs, building a strong foundation as a qualified Red Seal Boilermaker.
Work & Experience
• Inspect equipment and identify defects before failures occur.
• Conduct planned and breakdown maintenance on plant equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures
• Fabricate structures and Pipelines for Plant
-Disassemble, fabricate and install chutes. (PPC de Hoek,
-Fabricate/Repairs and weld pipelines. (Arcelor Mittal SA)
-Fabricate structurs and piping for Waterplant.
